Richard Suttmeier is an engineer by education with an undergraduate degree from Georgia Tech and a Masters Degree from Brooklyn Poly. 

Richard began his business career at Grumman in 1966 working on projects related to the lunar module and F-14 Tomcat.

Later, in 1971, he joined the Bank of New York working on systems applications for the International Division. In 1972, he joined Briggs, Scheadle as an agency and U.S. Treasury trader. In 1977 he joined Loeb Rhodes as a bond and agency trader. The following year he became the first long bond trader at Bache. In 1981, he began the Government Bond Division at L.F.Rothschild establishing that firm as a primary dealer in 1986.

Soon after, he formed a consulting firm, Global Markets Consultants, Ltd., which produces reports covering the technicals of the Treasury market, financial futures, commodities, currencies and equity indices. While operating GMC, Richard was the U.S. Treasury strategist for Smith Barney in 1991 through 1995, then served as the Chief Financial Strategist for William R. Hough & Co. from 1997 till 1999.  

Richard is presently the Chief Market Consultant of TFD Training Corporation Worldwide. Richard provides the technical component of research including technical buy, sell and hold ratings and technical overlays.

Richard has been an industry leader in technical analysis since 1983. Richard has industry licenses including Registered Principal, and Investment Advisor. He is a member of the Market Technicians Association, and President of SIRE.

Richard makes regular appearances on CNNfn, Fox News Channel, CNBC and Bloomberg TV. He has also given lectures on the use of technical analysis in evaluating investments and trading strategies.
